Musical Life

How having a musical life can help?

How does music make you feel? Relaxed, happy, motivated, focused? To me it is all, it is just part of my life. And believe it is same for most people, “all of the above”. Live a musical life. Music has a power that goes beyond just entertainment. Let us see how it can help to be more productive and focused. We will also look at some of the medicinal benefits that music can provide.

Music has been around for centuries and is one of the oldest forms of communication. It has more power than just entertainmnet, relaxing, stress relief, anti-depressing, mood enhancer, and even has medicinal benefits like memory optimizer, brain enhancer.

Work ‘n Music

I like to listen to music most of the time where I dont have to interact with anyone and still do my work. Many people feel that listening to music while working is a distraction. However, for me, it is the opposite. I find that it helps me focus and be more productive. There are several studies that support this claim. One study found that students who listened to music while studying had higher test scores than those who didn’t listen to music.

Another study found that surgeons who listened to music while operating had shorter surgery times and fewer errors.

Brain ‘n Music

Music has many medicinal benefits as well. I believe many of you have heard that listening to classical music helps to brain development or at least has some positive impact on our brain. It can help improve memory, focus, and brain function.

One study found that seniors who listened to classical music regularly had better memory recall than those who didn’t listen. Another study found that children who listened to classical music had better focus and attention span. And, finally, a study found that students who listened to Mozart before taking a test scored higher on the test than those who didn’t listen to music.

Learning to play an instrument will help your brain to function better. Good response time, good memory as we need to remember the notes, being alert are just a few of the benefits from playing musical instrument. Studies have also shown that children who learn and play musical instruments do better at math and have improved language skills.
